I was in Kobe, Japan— I had to have Kobe beef. This was the most amazing piece of meat I’ve ever put in my mouth. It was tender but also fluffy like a marshmallow? It’s so hard to describe its decadence, but so unforgettable. I still dream about this hunk of meat & one day I will go back to Kobe to experience it again.

I had made plans to fly to Tokyo, Japan to see coldrain at the Budokan like 10 months in advance. It is about 3 months until I fly out and SSTP announced their Magic Hour Tour with the first date on the night I leave. I knew I had to see them. Coldrain and SSTP are my 2 most favorite bands and I’m already in Japan, I can’t just not see them. Long story short, my friend was able to get us 2 tickets so I had to make arrangements to delay my flight home a day later, buy another plane ticket to fly from Tokyo to Kobe and fly back the next day to catch my plane home back to Cali, and rooming arrangements.

An extra $500.00 later, I was set to see SSTP. How amazing that I was able to see both coldrain and SSTP 3 days apart! Before doors opened, we handed the suitcase to one of the staff members. Within minutes, I saw Yosh, the vocalist, pop his head out of the door and scan the crowd. Little did I know, he was looking for me. When he turned around to go back inside, I saw him holding my envelope that contained his portrait. Then he posted an Instagram story to show his gratitude for the gift. A couple of weeks after returning home, I received many comments from other fans that were there that night telling me Yosh was looking for me all night after the show. He went around asking people if they were from Cali because he wanted to thank me personally. Unfortunately, he didn’t find me, but next time though…

P.S. Yes, I did have Kobe beef. I still dream about it today.
